Project Manager – Process Design & Implementation
Annually (PUMA cycle)
As part of the annual PUMA cycle, existing BMW vehicle web pages must be updated for all models and their respective 1–5 powertrain variants. Coordination with the client took place via email and text message – an unstructured process that was prone to errors and involved a significant amount of manual project management work. The collected changes then had to be passed on to the production teams in the form of tasks. Example: If the ‘blue ring’ designation (a badge for BMW electric vehicles surrounding the logo) was to be removed, all affected images had to be manually identified across all electric vehicle projects and individually briefed to the art department.
The briefing process was initially outlined in Miro and subsequently implemented as a native Workfront form with pre-defined automation rules. A central form collects all project-relevant information (affected models/drive variants, type of change). Based on the input, Workfront automatically creates fully briefed tasks for the relevant trades. In the case of conditional changes, the appropriate task is automatically created in every affected project – without the need to manually go through each individual project.
Time saved per cycle during the briefing phase
Scaled across the entire BMW model range (1–5 powertrain variants per model)
Fully briefed, conditional tasks instead of manual email coordination
